An Organized Retreat

I am admitting defeat and retreating from the online field on which I have battled the bane of my existence, ENG110: “Introduction to Literature.” Next semester I will take the course on campus and quietly sit through three hours on Thursdays with minimal participation. Having to write this much for participation kills me. Gone are the days when I have nothing better to do than sit at my computer posting to message boards and chatting with people – long, long, long gone. I will quit deluding myself into thinking that online courses are nothing more than keeping up with message boards. It is far less interesting and way more scrutinized. Maybe if I cut it down to just the 5-hour Calculus 1 I can survive this semester.

I have 9 days of vacation left at work, but it doesn’t look like I’ll be able to take it all by the end of the year. Soooo, my boss is offering to let me log my time in the system as having been taken in December, but actually take the time off in January. Shhhh, don’t tell the parent company.

Just make sure that when you take the non-virtual class, you get a totally different professor.

I’ve taken 3 online courses…all of which have been easier than it probably would have been inclass. I took English, Soc., and adult psych. For the Soc. I didn’t even open my book 😉
