That philosophy book has attracted some attention lately. One of my professors saw it and started asking me questions about it, and yesterday a woman at work asked me about it. Apparently she has an interest in philosophy and she said she’d bring in some of her old books (I assume from college) for me. She asked me a lot more questions about it and actually flipped through it a bit. My professor just wanted to know if it was for a class or for myself. Saying it is just for me raises eyebrows (usually both) every time. I know I’ll have to read that book again later. It’s just not the kind of book you can expect to read once and understand fully. In fact I usually end up reading things multiple times – sometimes just for renewed enjoyment, sometimes for total memory failure, but other times just because I didn’t feel like I gleaned enough from it the first time. That makes it take a lot longer to get through my reading list. Anyway, when I’ve progressed more in my learning of German, I’ll have to tackle that book’s appendix which consists of the untranslated passage by Wittgenstein.
