Last night, as I lay under the car staring up at the leaking oil pan while I waited for my numb fingers to return to life in my warm pockets, I was reminded of my childhood. The cold reminded me of the time I had spent laying out in the quiet snow as I was last night. But in those days I was out in the cold for necessity but for fun. It was calming to have such memories as a break from cursing the re-manufactured alternator.
This reminded me of when I was young and in college for the first time…we used to walk in the dead of winter in the dark night and take time to lay on the cold sidewalks and look up at the clouds and just talk, hanging out there in the frigid Upper Peninsula weather…thank you for the memory. I appreciate it.

i admire anyone that can work on their own car. i still want to learn one day. at least the simple things, like changing my oil, etc. i would probably still pay for someone else to do it though. lol!

RYN: I agree. Someone that can cheer me up is a keeper. On another note, *points with jealousy* I covet the lifetime membership! Seriously. I’m trying to figure out where to get $100 to do it right now. Too bad I owe bills out the, um, ears and my tax return is all going towards those.
