More Things I Don’t Get

Wooooahhhh man, that Harry Potter diary on here is a bit freaky! Like, I have never known someone to be so obsessed with fiction, I actually get a little scared reading that thing. I mean, I’m not here to hate on her or anything, it’s just whenever I come across it, morbid curiosity gets the better of me and I freak myself out reading it! The GIFs are genuinely confusing – who makes those things and WHYYYY?

Anyway, so I was thinking today about more things that I don’t get – there’s something in particular that really pisses me off, and I’m sure to pretty much EVERYONE reading this, they will think I’m a nitpicking moron with nothing better to do and they may be right but here we go. This thing annoys me because I’m a designer. It’s just like how this would annoy a web designer:

CLIENT: We need to talk about the interweb you built for us

WD: Excuse me?

CLIENT: You know the interweb-thingie. Our IN-TER-WEB 

WD: You mean the website.

CLIENT: Yes! Interweb-whatever! Sounds like I have more experience with this interstuff! 

And like how someone who loves putting candles everywhere would annoy the shit out of a firefighter.Well, this is what annoys me:

 

Now again, I’m not writing these things to get people all riled up. If you made one of these images, please don’t take offence. These are clearly the work of people with competent computer skills, it’s just when seeing these after spending all day at work choosing appropriate fonts and painfully tweaking layouts, all you want to do is draw angry red marks all over these jpegs and teach the world about aligning text and images, choosing relevant photos for the context they are set in, avoiding sparkling GIFs at all costs and NOT USING COMIC SANS MS.

Ach, rant over for today, wrist still hurts. And NO, it’s NOT from too much WANKING (thanks for the suggestion but NO), it’s obviously a symptom of being too flamboyant when complaining about the world.
