I see the future. And it is shit.

There are a few I’ve missed here and there because they are either ALMOST original (eg, Prometheus, a prequel to Aliens) and maybe about 3 (out of 100) that are genuinely new things.

So WHAT. THE. FUCK.

Why are they remaking Carrie? What the hell was wrong with the original? It was awesome! The Never Ending Story? Total Recall?! THE BIRDS?! SERIOUSLY, WHAT THE FUCK?! Why do these things need remaking? Are film makers so out of ideas they can’t find any writers with good stories to tell through cinema? Or are they so big headed/retarded, they think they can do better than originals, that are called classics for a reason. We may as well remake Empire Strikes Back while we’re at it! JEEZ!

And then the sequels. Who the fuck really wants to see ANOTHER Pirates of the Caribbean? Or Fast and Furious? Does anyone really care about the return of xXx’s Xander Cage? And why are they ruining what is already ruined? After the abomination that was Indiana Jones 4, do we really want a 5th? Is it gonna have vampires and zombies and more stupid shit like aliens? Captain America isn’t even out yet and they’re so sure of it’s success they’re making a sequel?

Don’t even get me started on crap like Gears of War. CASTLEVANIA?! The dullest game ever is going to now be a movie?! ARGHHHHH!

As you can tell, this really pissed me off. What happened to originiality, good story telling and all that jazz? I mean, yeah I get that they want to make money, but plenty of original movies made plenty of money, are producers so scared of bombing at the box office that they will now only produce this crap? Do they really think that’s any better?

If this is what the future of cinema is to be, I’m glad cinema is dying. I don’t want any part of this bollocks.

XxX

Rofl!

September 14, 2011

a-fucking-men. they can shove their remake of the crow right up their fucking bumpipe. same place as the sequels to the crow for that matter original is best. yes…we likes it…we does 🙂

September 14, 2011

I saw that or a similar list the other week and I was thinking the same thing.

September 14, 2011

Easy money. That’s all I have to say.

How depressing. Guess I won’t be visiting the cinema for a while. Ah well.

ryn: hahaha yeah i thought so too!

September 17, 2011

I should’ve stopped reading after “The Birds”… seeing Pirates on there made my anger reach new heights. HANGOVER 3?! -.- I must admit I’ll definitley be seeing Kill Bill 3, though.

September 18, 2011

ryn: It’s for a fashion event a few months from now. There are a handful of prizes for a few that make it past the prelims, but otherwise we just get exposure. There’s not a lot of modeling opportunity in the south so everyone just takes what they can get.

September 22, 2011

Fucking exactly!

September 23, 2011

I KNOOOOOOW dude. LIAR LIAR PANTS ON MOTHER FUCKING FIRE! lol 🙂 you know we are sisters in our hate of that bitch.

i appreciate that you’re trying to give me sound advice. the thing is that they make me feel horrible. almost 17 years have passed since i escaped. i know that there have most likely been other women that have been hurt. i feel so guilty for everything he could have done during these years. i hate myself for it. i continually beat myself up for leaving him. i survived his abuse but someone else might not have. if i had stayed he wouldn’t have gone looking for someone else. this is why i delete your notes. the guilt and self hate become overwhelming.

September 27, 2011

The Avengers isn’t a remake.

September 27, 2011

The only movie on that list that I’m excited to see is “The Dark Knight Rises.” Christopher Nolan wrote those movies as a trilogy with the express point of there being three of them. No more, no less. So while its another movie, that is part of the intended story arc, not just an add-on attempt to cash in on success. Otherwise, yes. Hollywood seems to have lost its concept of originality.~rory PS – For a good movie, you should see Drive. Ah-mazing. Makes me believe that not everyone in the film industry is completely lost it.

I *just* had a conversation at work the other day about movies. I feel like this generation has absolutely no creativity and they will never wonder “what happened” after the credits roll since the sequel will soon follow. But you know what….? They will continue to make them if people continue to watch them. 🙁

September 27, 2011

I was very upset to see no My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic movie on that list 🙁

i have been dealing with my guilt. that’s why i was in therapy for 2 1/2 years…why i’ll be going back to therapy as soon as i have insurance again. just because i’m dealing in a different manner than you would doesn’t mean i’m not in fact dealing. regardless of what you say i am not going to the police. i don’t know where he is, reliving the pain to the police for you isn’t going to improve my life or healing.

It seems like nobody in Hollywood has original ideas anymore.

(Saw you on RC) This is why Indie Films are having so much success. Nobody wants to see a regurgitated piece of crap or a sequel where the first movie was good but every one after has sucked. I’ve been disinterested in movies for a long time because it’s all just rubbish. As for the games being made into movies… seriously how unoriginal is that? I don’t want to even play the games and they thinkI want to fork out cash to see them especially when they’re typically filled with a bunch of no-talent ass-monkeys. No thanks, I’ll stick to reading books.

September 27, 2011

they are going to ruin my childhood with a remake of the Never Ending Story. They should NOT do it. Just make a new movie LIKE IT, don’t soil the memory of my youth. I just saw the remake of Clash of the Titans and wanted to kill myself. They all need to die.

September 27, 2011

random- wow your right! The Birds, The Never Ending Story, Carrie (which already had an awful made for tv remake)…really. No need for a remake. just silly. They will all be crap im sure! thanks for sharing though!

September 27, 2011

I was in love with the first three pirates movies. When they made another one I knew it was for more money…now I’m just irritated and sad.

September 27, 2011

It really is the end of the world. 🙁 Mediocre limbo from here on out.

September 27, 2011

you qq about wanting a good story, but blow off gears of war and castlevania which tells me you thought the notebook was a good movie.

September 27, 2011

I agree with most of what you said. Personally, I don’t mind some remakes. Actually the “superhero” movies I’m grateful are being remade because they were shit before that slaughtered the comics. To be honest, most those movie were “good” because they were bad. That was there appeal to people. Total Recall for example, to this day makes me laugh with the one liners “Hey Benny, Screw YOU” as he kills the dude with a huge drill…. But I’m not shocked he didn’t win an Oscar. I know that really makes people love these movies for what it is. But if you really look at the movie, it’s not a priceless gem. Most people who create movies have a vision of what they wanted it to be, and only had the resources of the time. Or, were controlled by the production company’s to change their idea’s (sometimes for the better). Or they just sell it and like someone said before, easy money. Those people who are not holding on to nostalgia, or the younger generation will go see those movie. That’s just mindless entertainment for them. ::shrugs:: Captain America came out months ago in the US, and was a success. 😀 I’m looking forward to The Avengers.

September 27, 2011

I can’t remember the last time I walked into a movie theater really excited about what I was about to watch. And even with low expectations I usually walk out disappointed.

September 27, 2011

See Hesher, it’s an awesome movie.

September 27, 2011

“you qq about wanting a good story, but blow off gears of war and castlevania which tells me you thought the notebook was a good movie.” Something original, is the point.

when you give me advice on my diary it is all about me. i’m sorry that you don’t understand my choices and decisions. please don’t return to my diary-you just make me feel worse about myself. goodbye.

September 27, 2011

Sequels also have a major impact on boosting sales for the original too, thanks to all the hype that gets kicked up. So there’s that. Tragic thing about films is that although they are an art form, most people don’t even like art, and will still pay to see something that suits them. It’s their garbage we’re drowning in. There’s no money in quality.

September 27, 2011

You are 100% right! Where is the creativity and imagination of this generation?

There’s nothing I would want to see in theater – except for Iron Man 3. Mmm, that Robert Downey Jr is dreamy for an old fart

September 27, 2011

The Avengers isn’t a remake. It’s based on the Marvel Comic, not the 60s TV show. If that were the case it would be doubly-bad since they already did a movie remake of that show. I guess it could arguably be considered a sequel to Iron Man 1 and 2, Captain America, Thor and Incredible Hulk, though. Also, uh, Fantastic Four 2 came out a few years ago. Anyway, I don’t think originality and good storytelling are necessarily exclusive from operating within an existing story universe (originality maybe, but how many so-called “original” movies actually are?), but the sad trend does seem to be that they aren’t. Loud, flashy effects and moronic acting seem to sell the most. Star Trek 2009 was a huge let down for me because it betrayed so much of what made the franchise good in the first place. Cinema as it currently exists may die, but these trends won’t be going away, the delivery format will simply change.

September 27, 2011

I’m waiting for Dark Knight Rises.

September 27, 2011

…I grew up playing with Castlevania on Nintendo, man.

September 27, 2011

Actually Capt. America has already been out for awhile.. Hollywood has been lacking original ideas since the stone age. 50 or 100 movies have to be made before one decent one can get produced.

All those notes and not one single one about how many Bond films ther are.

Yes, the industry is dying, and Hollywood is why. New ideas are dangerous, don’cha know, and asking a bunch of clones to be innovative is simply not done. I started watching old, old movies a few years ago. Ones from the ’30’s and ’40’s. I’m surprised at how fresh THEY appear, and at the risks they took. I only find one movie in fifty made today thats worth watching, and even that oneis always a bit derivative…

October 9, 2011

If my diary was public and I wanted to stir up a big controversy, apparently I just have to make an entry about movies. Damn. I agree with the vast majority of your list…and I actually agree with basically everything else you said. I’m just a huge comic book nerd at heart and love all things comic related. But lacking originality…definitely. Maybe everyone has just run out of ideas.
