Morning

It’s an overcast morning, so I’ve slept longer than usual. Even the birds have been quiet.  I roll out of bed, climb down the stairs, then wind my way to the bathroom. I’m reminded that a leak in the plumbing has made the carpeting wet. Oh well.

AAAAAhhhhh…

It won’t flush… that leak thing. All in due time. I make my way to the kitchen sink and find my dirty coffee cup from yesterday. How can my own germs kill me? I’ll just boil it in the water I’m heating.

The water is boiling. The cup is ready. I add the hot water and stir it with the dirty spoon from last night. Maybe the heat will kill those germs. Maybe in their weakened state they will provide immunity. Now some milk. I’m grinning because I’m thinking about what I do to B when she adds milk to the coffee. I take a big swig of milk straight from the jug.

AAAAAhhhh…

I balance my full cup over to my desk, spilling once while clearing a space to put it down. I put myself down in my afghan covered chair, and turn on the heating pad under my feet. Upon looking around, I note that the day has gotten brighter, but it’s still in the realm of gloomy. I briefly pause to wonder if Photobucket in OD is still screwed up.

I light my cigarette and take my first puff, chasing it down with my first sip of coffee.

AAAAAhhhh…

I let out a fart.

AAAAAhhh…

Now it’s time to dream.
