The Darkshot Journey Begins.

Friends, Romans, and Rockers,

Lend me your ears (and eyes).

 

This has been a project I’ve wanted to begin for some time, and the now obvious fact that I’m home sick is perfect opportunity to start it. For those of you who don’t know, I have another page here on Myspace (the one some of you are on now) I keep going, that’s kind of my alter ego, for want of a better term. It was started through a recent reconciliation with both my former drummer, and the rhythm guitarist from our first band Darkshot.

 

What I wanted to achieve in starting that page (or this page) was to make it a tribute, not only to the music we played, but to the friendships and partnerships we all formed, and the adventurous times that we had. The band will never reunite the way it was before, however “our” licks are still found in the ventures that happened along the way long after. So to Dave; who I believe is rightfully crowned the founder of the band, Scotty; the bass player who has an uncanny resemblance to the lead singer of Disturbed, Michael; an electrician who missed his call as a world class lead guitarist, and Tez; the guy I believe was responsible for getting us on the map, this is for all of you!

 

I’m going to tell the story (for those interested) of how we started, how we grew, how we got along, and how we died. We all learned some valuable lessons along the way, and you never know, maybe some of this might be useful to someone else. There are a great deal of good times to write about, many bad times, and many sad times, but in order to put this thing in prospective, and give all the members justice, I need to be truthful. I want this to be a journey of remembrance, a trip down memory lane that will make us smile, and perhaps even shed a tear or two, but I promise you all, it will be worth the read. I’ll be posting the blogs on both pages for a while till I know who is reading them on my main page and if it’s worth continuing on there too.

 

I have no problem with anyone using blog content, as long as it’s not lyrics, music or photos (former band members accepted of course) and I honestly welcome comments of all angles along the way. If you use anything I have written you MUST make a foot-note containing where you got it and include my name. Today is Thursday-24th of May 2007; time is 12.30pm, time to start writing!
