MY JOB ~

I can’t remember how much I have mentioned about my working situation. I got a part-time job with the work force thing, but they call it "training" & its suppose to help elders get back into the working world. I have not been out of it for long, but thats ok. What is great about it is that its not counted as actually working on a job. Its kinda like unemployment. You get paid, they withhold taxes, but its not considered a job, therefore, it doesn’t count against my rent, food stamps etc. I’m not getting food stamps at the moment so it doesn’t matter, but I’m glad my rent didn’t go up.

Anyways, I started out working in a different town about a 30 min drive from where I live, but wasn’t there too long till they had an opening in the town where I lived & I said YES! So now I work at the Senior Center 8:30-12:30 M-F, greeting, answering the phone, but my main job is to keep the restrooms clean, & pass out the lunches when its time to eat. I also get a free lunch which is usually meat & two veggies. It’s hard with my fibro, wiping off the tables, sweeping & moping the bathrooms etc, but I’m managing. I have become friends with several of the ones who come to eat daily.

My goal next month is to pay off some bills. I hope times keeps going by as fast as it has already this summer.

Change of subject: the WEATHER…….H O T !!  Its suppose to get back to the 3 digits this coming week, with very little rain. What little bit we had yesterday sure felt good & cooled things down a bit. I love the smell of the rain.

Going to go cuddle my puppy now since its past her bedtime. Guess she doesn’t know its a weekend lol
