Childrens’ Eyes of Joy

December 25th Christmas day. The most exciting holiday for any kid. Me, I’m 21. I’ve grown past toys and lights and the whole spirit of Christmas. Because now I am expected to make it happen for the kids.
I don’t have kids so I don’t need to go all out. It just doesn’t excite me anymore.
This year for Christmas my nephews  came down from Maine to spend Christmas with my parents. It was a small year because a few grandparents are not doing that great, or just don’t want to drive.
But my brother was there and it’s always good to see him. My sister in-law is probably one of the most annoying persons I have ever met. She makes my brother do everything for her and it just sickens me. (but that’s another story)
My brother and Jeff played guitar hero with my brother and even though Jeff sucks at guitar hero he had fun. (Jeff plays real guitar)
My nephews were the cutest. Zack is almost three and Nick is two. Nicolas learned to walk and tries to get into everything and Zack is learning how to share. They are so cute and I love them. I’m so proud of my brother to have such great children. He could do with a better wife though. (again another story)
We brought the dogs with us so they could enjoy Christmas dinner. Yes they got what we were eating.
Luna had the hardest time trying to stay out of trouble and I had to keep her from taking food from the babies. She only took once. And in her defence the babies had been offering food to her for hours. Then while food was being placed on the table she had to be good enough not to jump on anyones’ lap and try to grab anything. (it’s not a habit for her, but she gets crafty sometimes) Then she had to wait for everyone to finish eating before either her or Bobo could get treats. (Btw, for breakfast both pups got soft food so they got spoiled yesterday)
We put Kalie (my dad’s shepard) outside and plied a plate full of everyone’s scraps and let the pups eat a very delicious dinner. We all had Cornish game hen with stuffing inside, lamb with beef gravy, broccoli and cheese sauce, some butternut squash, some potatoes with mushrooms (and one without for Jeff), and green beans.
It was awesome.
I think that about wraps it up.
First I want to add Luna, my hyper beagle slept all night (we got home like three in the afternoon.) It was great!

Happy Holidays everyone!

Awww she did well not to take any food and kids drive dogs to distraction! I know what you mean about the lack of kids about making it hard to get that whole big Christmas excitement going – it seems harder for me each year. Glad you got family time though and had a good day * HUGS
