eye cant have guy friends?

oook so i finally tell everyone about my bf,  gushing about all the sweet things he says to me lol and the next day we have our first argument lol..typical… so much for the honeymoon phase.

he thinks its disrepectful for me to have guy friends still, now that we’re together, he also thinks it is not possible to just be friends with the opposite sex.

 anyone who really knows me, knows that i mostly have male friends- its always been like that, even as a kid…

but my friends are more like brothers to me, theyre guys ive known up to 10 yrs now, theyre all settled down, some married with kids.. i talk to them on the phone every now and then to catch up. but its not like i see them on a regular basis so i guess im not understanding why he sees them as a problem.

this is all so new to me, ive never really had a serious relationship where ive had to consider what the other person wants, where ive had to compromise in that way.

giving up my male friends for him?im not sure if i could do that.. i asked him if he would do the same, if i asked him to get rid of a friend, would he? and he said he would do it without hesitating…

im starting to feel a little restricted now, this relationship thing may be a foreign concept to me at times but no matter how many times i assure him about my friends, it doesnt register.

should i just give in and drop the friends to make peace here.. or stand by what i believe in.

he’s never told me what i should or shouldnt do, or been controlling in anyway, i wouldnt stand for that.. lets face it i’ve been a single mom for almost 7yrs now im used to doing my own thing and he knows this…

we were arguing about it on the phone earlier, then he just said he wanted to get off the phone, so  I just said "Fine, bye" lol I wasnt gonna beg him to stay on.

he saw me on yahoo after that and sent a message apologizing..resolved things somewhat

*sigh* drama…..
