Vegas Law – Revised

It appears I was ill-informed regarding the laws of Vegas.  I received an email from Richard this morning with the update:

Randy – by the way, the new motto of Vegas “what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas” didn’t become law until several years (at least) after the beer goggles were worn!

Am finally going diving in the morning.  There is one place that I hope we get to dive at (weather providing).  There is an underwater chimney which is quite tall, and I really want to go into it.  There is another place which really interests me as well…it’s supposed to be a very challenging place to dive…very strong surges and currents.

I am happy the hotel I normally stay in here was booked.  I am staying at a place that is quite far from the tourist areas and is perched on top of a hill.  The views of the ocean are quite stunning.  There are no mosquitos on the hill, which is very nice.  The mosquito netting atop my bed makes me feel like Laurence of Arabia minus the chicks scantily clad in sliken robes.

I went to a place to hire a motorscooter for the week.  As I began driving down the hill, I did a brake check and discovered there were none.  What immediately went through my mind was my response to the last question the owner asked me prior to driving off:  "Would you like a crash helmet?"  Of course I responded to the question with a typical foolish response.  Using my feet at brakes, I slowed to a safe speed and used a tree to stop me completely.  I got off and walked back to the lady and informed her there were no brakes.  Her response:  "Ohh…that is not a problem…"  I pointed to a hill across the street which has a grade of about 55 percent, and said, "Lady, my hotel is up there."  haha!   She laughed, and said, "Ok…we’ll see about getting you another one."  Three more test drives, and I went to another shop.

I just received confirmation that my penpal will definately be meeting me here in Thailand.  Not sure what we’ll do yet, but it sounds as though we are either coming here or heading north to check out temples.  Should be fun.

Off in search of food…

I thought Lawrence of Arabia was gay??? Guess it doesn’t matter. I could have been misinformed. Have fun.
