smile???

Smile

what is a smile?

it starts in the mind,
is transmitted thru the nerves,
and executed by the muscles.
whether fake or genuine;
usually caused by
thoughts or stimuli.

today i cannot seem to smile
no matter how hard i try.
so is it my mind?
or is it my nerves?
or will my muscles simply not comply?

my cheeks feel heavy,
i can barely feel my face.
i cannot stop these painful thoughts
they wont seem to go away.

no (happy) thoughts come to mind.
nothing stimulating my nerves.
even memories aren’t working
not even the ones that use to.

so if it executed by the muscles,
transmitted thru the nerves,
and begins in the mind
please remind me….
