YES!!! Some GOOD News!!!

No one can tell me that prayer doesn’t work!!!

I spoke with Mom a couple of hours ago.  Her heart cath. came back normal.  No blockages or other problems, the stent was clean and looked good too.  When I asked her if they were going to go ahead with surgery to repair her aneurysm, she said, "Nope!  The doctor said it looks like it SHRUNK!"  Can you believe it??  We’re still waiting to hear what the Doc has to say about the Cat Scan and Sonogram but so far, they still can’t explain the spike in blood pressure.  Right now, Doc thinks the new meds will help.

AND….

In other good news…..

I have diabetes!!!!

I know, you’re probably thinking I’ve gone completely bonkers but this is actually really good news to me.  It explains the fatigue, some of the pain, the numbness in my hands and feet, the migraines and eye strain, the constant tiredness and weakness in my legs!!  The numbers aren’t high enough to require insulin injections.  I just need to change up my diet (again) to reduce my carbs, say goodbye to my Cherry Coke, and take a diabetic drug until I get my diet and weight under control.

I got the results back to my MRI and it’s NORMAL!!  It shows osteoarthritis but nothing more severe than what’s normal for someone my age.  The arthritis wasn’t that much of a concern to me, anyhow, because I know that exercise has always made it very manageable in the past.  I just need to be able to exercise again – which I haven’t been able to do lately – which has caused me to be very frustrated – which has triggered my depression – which…….well, you get it.  ANYHOW…

Don’t you see?????  It’s VERY good news!  Because once my veins are fixed and I regulate my vitamin D and blood sugar, there won’t be any stopping me!!!!

LOOK OUT WORLD, I’M COMING BACK!!!!!!       PRAISE BE TO GOD!!!        WOOHOO!!!!

Cograts on your momma. I am sorry but I refuse to say congrats on your diabetes. Take care.

Diabetes may explain a lot of physical abnormalities, but it is nothing to be congratulatory over. Of course, a diet change and weight loss will help control it. However, your mention of insulin indicates Type 1 diabetes. Is that what they diagnosed? Normally, at your age the diagnosis would be Type 2, which is not normally treated with insulin. Whichever, be very careful. RYN: Will accept your invitation, when offered. Be well, my friend.

Congratulations? 😉 So happy about your mom and for your “not as bad as it could have been” news.

Great news all around!

That’s awesome! I’m glad everything is working out. As tough as diabetes is, it’s much more manageable then the other possibilities:)

Praise God for the good news!!! And I completely understand about WHY finding out you have diabetes is good news — it was the same way with my grandmother. Once she found out what the problem was, they were able to get it fixed and she felt incredible! SOOOOOOO happy to hear about your Mom, that really is incredible!!

Wonderful update!

I’m glad to hear about your mom’s improvement and that you finally have a diagnosis for yourself. My BIL has the same type of diabetes…controls it through diet.
