Seven children…
…one young adult and three not-so-young adults living in a ti-i-i-iny living space.
Everyone gets to take a turn becoming intimately aquainted with the living room floor. You can not hear a single thing on the television – but it’s still on. The two house cats go into hiding; the bird goes into a frantic screeching mode for attention. Every three minutes you hear a door open and close. Just about every light in the house is on. You can hear MP3 players and someone’s cellphone in the background buzzing out what’s supposed to be music — what you HOPE is music — while girls squeal and chatter. Somewhere through all the melee is my sister’s voice…
I’m sitting on the couch with my eyes closed, smiling from ear to ear.
They rolled in around 8:30 pm last night – just in time to say hello and goodnight to the hubby as he made his way up to bed. We actually finished getting the house in order shortly before their arrival. Poor Liz, if her hands don’t blister, she’ll be lucky. The carpet cleaner we rented did a poor job of cleaning the demon carpet from Hell. Liz got fed-up with it and decided to get down on her hands and knees and literally scrub the thing with a brush and bucket of cleaner (over night and all day yesterday) as she used the hose attachment to suck up all the water.
Mauve? My carpet is mauve? I do seem to recall it used to be that color… At least now it looks a little less evil. I’ll be happy to rip most of it out next spring when we plan to put in the new floor.
Today is going to be busy, busy, busy. I have to return the carpet cleaner in about an hour, take a shower, go to my doctor’s appointment, buy a few groceries, pick hubby up from work, take him and two kids to the eye doctor’s to pick up their new glasses, fix hubby some dinner and then gather up the crowd to head out to Mom and Dad’s. Hubby will stay home to rest today and will come to the reunion party tomorrow.
I’m already tired…
…but it’s all good. 🙂
Until next time…have a beautiful day.
Wow, it sounds like crazy, fun times.

WE have the same thing happening here, minus carpet cleaning. But my sister and her hubby and kids are coming for 2 weeks and I need to get things ready as well. Been dragging it out, but next weekend is the last one, as they arrive on Monday here. Yikes. How is your hubby doing btw? Is this stress wearing him out too? How about the heat?

Have a good visit with your family, crazy as it is.

Your daughter is a sweetie to do that for the family.
