Crochet-Crazy-Pics
I mentioned in a couple of previous entries how I’ve been doing some crocheting. Allie, my youngest daughter, asked for beanie hats for Christmas. When Hubby priced them online, we found they were going for $10. – $17. a piece. Waaaaay too expensive for some factory knit hats, if you ask me. So, I decided to make some for her and then show you my handiwork. 🙂
Here are the hats I made for Allie, Wesley and my niece:
Here’s a close-up of the ones I made for Allie:
This blue one is for Wesley. It will match his coat. 🙂
This one I made for my 7 yr. old niece who’s also my God-child:
…and here’s the afghan I’m making for Wesley’s bed. It’s in his favorite colors: Red, Blue & Yellow, and I added black to accent. Notice how the back side is darker than the front side? I think that’s neat.
Here’s a closer view of the stitch pattern I made up. 🙂
I didn’t get a close-up of the white hat but I’m planning to attach this flower to the side of it.
..or maybe I’ll make a lavender one to put on it since that’s Allie’s favorite color.
I’ve now run our of yarn. 🙁
I’m hoping hubby will give me a $20. spending allowance to let me get some more. I still have hats to make for two more God-children and my Mom & sisters.
I’m having so much fun with this!!
What-do-ya think? 🙂
Neat. 🙂 *shiver* RYN: Disagree. Baby being born is just a baby being born. Even when that baby is Jesus. The interesting stuff doesn’t start happening for awhile.

Those are wonderful! Very nice work. I like the one for your god child with the brim (is that what it’s called? lol) I love the flower, it’s going to look great on the white one. I’d like to see them being worn to get the full effect. Afgans are great and very warm. I have one from both sides of my grandmothers and I cherish both of them. My mother also made me one and I love it too.

you should look into getting some yarn at Goodwill or something. They actually do have these things. I also buy my yarn at the yarn-paradise.com store. Yes, the shipping can get expensive, but when a ball of yarn is less than a buck, a nice sweater is very very cheap. All worth it. You may want to look into this. And then sell them on etsy or ebay. You’re talented!

ryn: I found an awesome mini trampoline that folds up for storage or travel on Amazon. I’ve been looking for rocking chairs, too. They are either adult sized or toddler sized. Really frustrating. I didn’t know you knit! I’ve been looking at/for thumbless mittens for Austin. He has huge hands and can’t put a regular mitten or glove on yet. I found a few on Etsy.

ryn: Hahaha I don’t know the difference between knitting and crocheting… oops! That’d be awesome!

I forgot to tell you- Austin got a video rocker chair last year for Christmas! He loves it, but it’s put away right now. Maybe I will pull it back out for him. 🙂

RYN: Hey, girlie, as far as I’m concerned, you ARE one of my sisters, complete with all the love and support and goofiness that my other two get! 😉 I love you, sweetie! Wish we lived closer!
