You’d think I’d learn….
Rough morning at work today. We had a spectacular night, we really did. There was only one unexpected pallet on the floor on "my" side of the store (even though I was alone again) and I’m going to do some serious face-ripping tonight about it. I was told by now less than THREE of my stockers that EVERYTHING had been scanned into the racks. NOt gonna be pretty tonight.
The other side was a bit of a mess but it was a mess left over from day shift yesterday, so I told my folks to concentrate on keeping *our* stuff off the floor and in the racks when it came back, which they did. There were only two carts of back stock still not racked when they had to go.
I however got to stay and clean up the mess dayshift left because that was suddenly "our" mess from overnights. Little Miss Brand New Senior Manager and I are going to detail walk that backroom before she leaves me alone tonight and (assuming I can refrain from saying "well, i looks like someone’s got a mess to clean up before they leave") I’m going to take pictures of what it looked like when I got there. If I don’t get day shift’s mess cleaned up then too damn bad. If I got proof then I can smack everyone upside the head with it in the morning. They really don’t want to screw with me. I think I heard The Imperial March playing in my head as I was getting that side of the store straightened up and that’s never a good sign…
Critter was supposed to be coming over to borrow my Internet connection, and she said (an hour ago) that if I was willing to stay up for "a little bit" we could talk some, to which I replied "cool". They still aren’t here and she only lives five miles away. I really should have known better. I love her to death but there is always some sort of travel drama with her, and this time she had D & B with her so who knows what’s going on. I thought they only had to brush their teeth, and she does only have one bathroom but damn, how dirty can those kids’ teeth be? Seriously. I’m about to hit the sack anyway, as much as I’d like to talk to her. I’ve still got to work tonight after all.
What a funny thought! You walking through the store with Madam Senior Manager and The Imperial March playing in the background. I can just picture her struggling to keep up as you point at different piles of daytime messes saying “What about THIS?!?!” 🙂 Exteremely funny way to start my monday! Thanks for the giggle.
