Work good, love life bad

Had a pretty good day at work today. It didn’t seem like we set a whole lot today, but the project guys are happy with the progress. They say we should be at thirty percent complete by Friday, but because of problems getting our hardware in we’ll only be at twenty-five percent. Considering when we left last Friday we were apparently only at ten percent they are very pleased. I guess they had us down for ten percent per week, but that’s a little aggressive since we’re going to be here for twelve weeks. Do the math folks.

The thing with the cashier is not going to happen (see Good Times and Date and Project News). I saw her today, and asked if she had changed her mind, and she went on about how busy she was and school was starting and she had lots of doctor appointments, etc. I got her number and she’s got mine, but I’m not going to call. She knows my schedule and has my number, if she’s interested she’ll call, and I’m back 10-8 and on the prowl.

I hate it that the people I’m attracted to aren’t attracted to me. That’s twice in the past few months that I’ve asked someone out and they turned me down or stood me up. What the hell? I met that cashier two days before I asked her out and I was almost instantly attracted. The same with the girl from electronics, but I crashed and burned both times. I’m not looking to get laid on a first date, people! For me the ultimate sign of a good first date is a good-bye kiss when I drop her off. And I’m talking just a normal closed mouth kiss here, nothing huge. I’d settle for a good-bye hug and try for a second date even then. Even I know a good-bye handshake is a bad thing. The thing with Ember doesn’t really count, she had a boyfriend by the time I found out she was available so that was just bad timing. The other two were single.
