Wii would like to play…

Yeah, I finally bought one. I guess they all come with Wii Sports, and I bought the Clone Wars game too since they didn’t have Mario Kart. I’ve sent Critter and AmandaC my console number for when they get their Internet connections sorted out. I even made a Mii for Ember so my Mii would have someone to hang out with.

I gave blood today. That was cool. No drama for me but the guy that got there right before I did passed out at the cookie table. Just fell right over on his face and everything. I’m surprised they let him donate. He almost hit my truck when he was parking (I was finishing up lunch) and was in there a good five minutes before I got in and was still trying to sign his name on the check-in list (lack of coordination). Then he filled out the ScanTron bubble form survey with X’s instead of filling in the circles (unable to follow verbal and written instructions) and then he filled in the stuff on the form that was marked "ARC Staff Only" (inability to follow written instructions). And this is all after his insistence that he *has* given blood at this location before. I wouldn’t go so far as to say the guy was altered but he certainly wasn’t quite right.

After he face-planted all the Red Cross folks in the room dropped everything and ran that direction. Naturally, I’d expect them to. He came around after a minute or two and they got a mobile chair for him to sit in so they could wheel him behind a screen for some privacy while hte paramedics checked him out. It’s a little odd that it took them five minutes to get there when we were only about a hundred yards from the nearest fire station. They might have been in town getting lunch or something. After the senior guy took over and it was clear he didn’t need ten people helping my guy came back to the chair I was in and spent two or three minutes looking for his blood pressure cuff since he had thrown it off to the side while dodging around me and grabbing for his stethoscope.

So all in all it was a pretty exciting day. According to the WiiSports fitness test I’m 53. I’m a little pissed about that. As soon as I’ve got the money I’m going to buy a WiiFit too so I can start on a regular routine of exercise. I’m really hoping I can lose some of the weight I’ve gained before I have to go see Dr. K next Friday or she’s gonna yell at me. I’d prefer she didn’t, really. She wanted me to have lost between fifteen and twenty pounds by now. I’ve gained ten. Oops! Some of that is bound to be fluid weight so maybe I can at least get back down to my original weight…

Not gonna do anything stupid, if I’m hungry I’m gonna eat. I’m just gonna try to wait until I’m actually hungry. But there are SO MANY places I can go to eat at work now that I’m not on overnights. Yummy food court goodness! Bad ToyMan, bad!

I went by Lowe’s and discovered that they do not have any dryers smaller than the one I was going to buy, so I guess that’s that. I really need a dryer, so I guess I’m sticking with the Series 2 DVR instead of the upgrade. Oh well.

There’s some crap going on at work with TreeSap. Some of the other overnighters are being pulled into the office to be questioned about who she’s dating. It isn’t an official investigation because if it was our Facility Manager would be doing it, and he’s not. I’m sick of it. They’re fishing around trying to get her in trouble when she hasn’t done anything wrong. I’m fairly certain they think it’s me she’s dating, and I can tell you it isn’t. I would have remembered getting her pregnant, trust me. I’m fairly certain the other hourly managers are the ones stirring the pot and I can tell you that the reason they don’t like her is because she wants to do something with her life and career, the other two are content to just sit where they are and can’t stand the fact that she might get promoted over them one day. Besides, as soon as they are done feeding on TreeSap they *will* turn on the salaried managers that are doing their dirty work for them. Trust me, I know them, and there’s a reason they hate me as much as they do TreeSap. It’s mostly because she and I are friends, but there’s also the small matter of me being able to see them for what they are and not playing their games with them.

Still no word from Nala about Saturday. I’m starting to worry a bit, but there may be a whole lot of stuff going on that I don’t know about too so I’m not gonna freak out or anything.
