When ToyMan met Thumper

I just got the "I’m gonna be 40!" phone call from Thumper today. She’s hit a rough patch. Her childhood sweetheart’s soon-to-be-ex-wife showed up with his oldest daughter and said she still cared and wanted to save their family.

Wow.

It was easier to turn away when he thought she didn’t care. He regrets leaving Thumper, or so she tells me, but this is a horrible thing for her. This is the third time that relationship has ended badly when everything was pointing toward them being together and she’s taking it very badly. To top it all off she’s having a hard time having a proper break-down because she’s in the middle of disentangling herself from a business she created and is still majority owner of and they keep calling. Oh, the poor thing.

She called me to ask if I thought she should go back to work for Walt Disney World again, which is where we met. I told her immediately that she was happy there, happier than I’ve ever known her to be anywhere else. I’ve mostly been letting her talk, it is her crisis after all. I’ll occasionally ask a question or point something out that she’s just said but for the most part she’s just talking. We’re on a hiatus right now due to one of the business calls. I expect her back any time now, so I’m going to go ahead and go.
