Week Five
Well, back at the project and back in the same room I had last week. I had a really achy feeling in my chest the first hour or so I was here, I guess I’m still not used to that whole being away thing. I saw Ember and Sammie for lunch today, she had to borrow the Internet and we try to see each other at least once on leaving day anyway so it worked out pretty well.
After they left I loaded up the car, and then cleaned up the apartment a little. Then I started thinking of reasons to not come back to the project so I went ahead and left. I stopped by the store to tell Ember I was leaving early and got another hug. Then I left.
That’s pretty much it. Boring as hell, but that’s the way my life is sometimes. I’ve got a bad feeling in my gut right now. I’m not sure if it’s more of the “not wanting to be away” feeling or the “we’re going to have to work six-day weeks to get done” feeling. I hope it’s the first. I’m not sure they’d let me go home if we were on six-day weeks, and without the mileage I can’t drive it every weekend. God that would suck.
Of course I usually feel pretty crummy the first night here, maybe that’s all it is.
There is some good news in all this though: I only have six weeks to go before we’re done. The bad news is I only have five more trips home. The last weekend we have to work straight through, the project manager told us that the first day. She just assumes we’ll be behind and need the time to catch up. That’s going to suck. That’s going to suck. I won’t see the gang for two whole weeks once I leave home on October 8th.
It could very well be u feel this way because it’s the first night. Everyone lives are boring as hell sometimes. Or alot of the time, if it isn’t they’re lying through their eye teeth about it! 🙂
