Things are good

Ok. Exchanged texts with Rah-Rah today, and we’re good. She’s going to go to the source of the poo-poo and talk to them. Still don’t know if it’s a he or a she, and I don’t know if Rah-rah is going to tell me who it is or not.

Anyway. Yay for Dirty Girl! She’s found a man! I hope he can make her happy, she deserves it.

I should find out Friday what my new store will be, but not necessarily the area I’m going to in the store. I worked in the back with our “recalls and broken crap” person. That was fun. I also spent some time up front with the shiny stuff. That was boring, but I did get my ring cleaned so I guess it worked out.

I spent the last hour or so of my shift with ToyLady; she was having some serious stress issues. There was a recall that wasn’t really a recall but she had to pull the pools anyway because the manager that told her to won’t admit he’s wrong. I think what was really stressing her out was the total lack of help any of her male co-workers offered her. She said something like eleven of them walked by while she was manhandling these big ol’ honking pools off the display and onto a pallet. These things easily weigh a hundred pounds apiece. Slime balls. It really annoyed me to walk over and see three of my fellow (male) classmates completely ignoring her while standing no more than ten feet away. If it was in my power to write them up I would have.

Had a bit of a tiff with one of my other classmates this morning. We were putting up an Easter display, and there was on section that was technically correct but it would have worked better with a little bit of tweaking so I tweaked it. He couldn’t shut up about how it wasn’t “right” and how that’s not how the manager wanted it and on and on. I told him, in no uncertain terms, that I had done it on purpose, why I had done it, and if the manager who asked us to set it up had a problem with it then and only then would I change it. He backed off and said I didn’t have to get all smart about it. The manager loved it, by the way.

That’s all for today. I may not be able to update much next week, we’ll all be out of town doing a corporate training thing.

sooo confused now.. Whats with all the nicknames?

April 3, 2007

RYN~~At the risk of coming off as nit-picky, ‘effendi’ is *technically* Turkish…’bey’ is the one for Arabic. (sorry, just had to say it!) Or maybe it just has Turkish origins…hmm. 😉 Have fun at that corporate training thing.

Eating my words: ‘bey’ has Ottoman origins, and so also has Turkish origins. Hmm. Well, it is used in Egypt, at any rate.
