The start of a crappy weekend

Why do I bother? Three of the four teams were in the same department today, and since I had the least linear footage to set I only took two people for my team. Of the fifty-two feet of counter my team had to set, I personally and alone set twenty-four feet. Four feet we didn’t have the fixture for (it’s here somewhere, we just have to find it) and one of my team members helped me set another four feet (another fixture, this one was moved from the old counter) but that only took ten minutes. That’s thirty-two out of fifty-two feet eliminated from their workload. The first person spent most of the day on her eight feet, and the other person had just started his third four-foot section when I was leaving at 17:00. We started working at 08:00.

And then, the project people get all pissy with me because I actually had plans and had to leave on time today. This is the only time I haven’t stayed when they asked me to. Thirty or so shifts into this and they get upset because there’s one shift I only worked nine hours as opposed to the customary ten or eleven? And to top it all off I still haven’t gotten this weeks expense check, so I’m stuck for cash this weekend since I used the money in the bank (which I normally use on the weekend) to eat with this week since my last expense check ran out with clock-work precision on Tuesday morning like it’s supposed to. Wonderful. Of course I didn’t think it’d be a big deal using bank money to eat with because surely they wouldn’t make me wait a whole week for my check would they? Apparently they would.

Dinner with Ember and Sam was good. There were supposed to be other people there but they had to go somewhere else to eat, a family thing. Ember and Sam have to work overnight tonight and they’re busy all day tomorrow with family and couple stuff so I probably won’t get to see them anymore until I say good-bye on Sunday afternoon.  That sucks.
