The one where I’m not fat, I’m sleep deprived…

Yeah, there was this thing the TiVo grabbed from the Science Channel a few days back that I just got to watch called "Dead Tired." It was about sleep deprivation, go figure. It seems there have been some studies done that, though currently unconfirmed, point to sleep deprivation as one of the underlying causes in the recent epidemic of obesity (and as a result sleep apnea and diabetes), depression (which can lead to obesity, et al.) and, surprisingly, ADHD. I’m not seriously putting the blame for me being overweight on my probably substantial sleep debt, that has more to do with minimal exercise and poor eating habits. It may, however, play a part in the difficulty I have losing it once I gain it since sleep deprivation screws with the hypothalamus, which controls feelings of "hungry" and "full". They did document with either an kazillion lead EEG or an fMRI (I wasn’t looking at the screen at that specific point) that the same amount of food that satisfied a person who was not sleep deprived did NOT satisfy that same person after a few days of less than the ideal eight hours of sleep per night.

Critter’s being a little weird, but what’s new.

I think Glee redeemed itself with its season finale. I didn’t delete the season pass.

Eureka comes back next week! WooHoo! I can’t wait for Sanctuary to return either. I can do without Warehouse 13, it just didn’t grab me. I do want to see the one with Jewel Staite in it though, she rocks. Seriously, she’s right up there with Alysson Hannigan on my top hotties list. Just did some checking and her episode is on in two weeks. I wonder if that’s the Eureka cross-over episode?

My power bill went up another ten bucks. I wonder if I’m actually using an extra ten dollars worth of electricity each month or if they’re just screwing with me wondering how much money it’ll take to make me call…

That’s all I have for now, sweet dreams (or good afternoon) everyone!

Hrum- they actually charge you different rates at different hours of the day. Peak hours (10am-5pm) some companies charge 3x the norm! I worked 3rd shift once and saved something like… $40/mo living that way. (Was in TN at the time so I was really saving on AC) Just a thought.
