The one where I forgot to put in a title

OK, I didn’t walk yesterday. Bad ToyMan. But I did today. It’s on my “To-Do” list now and the list is sacrosanct and MUST BE OBEYED! It’s a Franklin-Covey thing.

I was a bit bad with the food today, but I had planned to be. It was one last mini-blowout before the plan resumed hard-core. I used to splurge a bit on Saturdays, but I don’t know that I’ll have a reason to do that for a while. It’s a long story and related to my recent moodiness, so that’s all I’ve got to say about that.

My walk today took twenty minutes again, but I remembered that my “1 mile” benchmark actually marks the turn-around for “1.25 miles” so I’m actually almost on track for my fifteen-minute miles. I think I’m doing around seventeen or eighteen minutes right now, so I’m not that far off where I was.

I like Kool-Aid. No idea where that came from. I mean, I do, but I don’t normally advertise like that. It’s my secret shame, don’t you know. I currently have two gallons of "Cherry LimeAid" cooling in the fridge right now. It’s not a normal flavor: you mix two different packets to customize flavors. Ember got me started on that. I was such a stick in the mud before that it never would have occurred to me to do that.

So what’s the deal with overcoats now? I bought a London Fog overcoat back in Feb/March of 1993 that fit comfortably over a blazer/suit jacket of the same size. In other words, if you wear a 44L sport coat you’d by a 44L overcoat and it would be cut larger to fit accordingly. My store just got in some wool (or a nice synthetic substitute) overcoats and I tried one on. It was a 46L and fit well, but  I couldn’t wear a suit coat under it, it fit like a suit coat. My old one is a 44R, which is almost what I was wearing at the time (actually a 44L, but I got this coat off the clearance rack at a factory outlet, so I paid like $75 for a $200 coat, I could deal with sleeves being a little short) and it fit over my suits at the time. Right now (yeah I still have it) it fits over my clothes and is roomy, but it wouldn’t fit over a sport coat. Anyway, here’s the thing: am I not down to a 46L yet (at my target weight I should be in a 40L/42L) or has the style changed and you’re supposed to carry the coat you aren’t wearing around with you? Just wondering.

Oh yeah, not sure if I mentioned it but my date is on for tomorrow night. She doesn’t have to cover the shifts at the firehouse.

OK, just checked and I hadn’t mentioned it at all. Here’s the sitch: I asked out a girl from work on Monday, on Wednesday she told me she might have to cover a double shift at the firehouse she volunteers at (she’s an EMT and a firefighter) and wasn’t sure if anyone could cover since there aren’t that many of them that can do both. Apparently she doesn’t have to cover the shifts and we’re definitely on for tomorrow. I pick her up at 1800 for dinner and a movie. The movie is out of town because our theater sucks, but that gives us more restaurants to choose from too. Is Red Lobster OK for a first date? It’s been a really long time since I’ve done this after all.

Not sure if this will go anywhere or not, there have been sparks before, but right about the time I was getting ready to ask her out she’d do something to cheese me off in a major way, so I wouldn’t. Then she got pregnant and I thought she was still seeing her daughter’s father but I guess she’s not. Anyway, it’s off to the movies for us tomorrow night, and I’ll see where it goes from there.

Because I am a woman, I just can’t feel any empathy for you about the clothes thing Toyman…am sorry…lol. You should see OUR sizes for things! It’s why we ALWAYS have to try everything on. Red Lobster is good for a first date. I like to be a bit casual for a first date and actually like going to someplace like Arby’s before the movie. Then I’m not so nervous. Has been a long time though since I was out on a first date.
