The “not a mopefest” rant

OK, TiVo is good. Ember has more things scheduled than I do at this point but in all fairness she’s had more free time.

The new Bionic Woman is going to be great! No, you didn’t miss it; it’s a TiVo/Amazon Unbox thing.

Ok, on to the aggravation: My weekend off, the one I waited an extra two weeks for, was cancelled at the last minute by my boss. He had screwed up the schedule and one of the other managers who should have been on vacation was on the schedule and to fix it he had me work on Saturday, but I got to be off Sunday and Tuesday instead. No big right? We’ll get back to that later.

Monday I had to work thirteen hours instead of the customary ten because no one had counted deposits or signed paperwork in two or three days so we had way too much money lying around. Not gonna say how much, and people that outrank me have had screaming fits and it won’t happen again. It just took a really long time to count stuff and get the paperwork caught up. However, while taking care of that it was decided that I would attend the funeral of a recently deceased employee to represent the store since we couldn’t find the next highest member of management that was still employed (yeah, we’ve had a house cleaning) to ask him if he was going. For those of you who are paying attention you can probably figure out that the funeral was on Tuesday. There goes my other day off. Here’s the really fun part, the person who died didn’t even work directly for me. Want to guess who he worked for? Yep, the manager on vacation. Yay me.

I did manage to scamper after the funeral and meet Ember for sushi night. I picked her up on the way since it was looking kind of rainy and she was on the EmberCycle (only hers is all red and sexy). She’s not so keen on riding in the rain yet.

Since my whole week has been seriously screwed up I got to only work a half day yesterday, but I got worn out and run around more in that five hours than I ever would have in ten. There were two managers scheduled to be there until I got there. One of them left an hour early, the other one left two minutes after I got there after telling me that corporate was on hold for a manager and two trucks has just bumped up against the docks and needed to be unloaded ‘cause for some reason they aren’t drop trailers like they normally are.

Six days until my vacation. Close, mid, open, close, open, close. My schedule sucks!
