Stuff

A quick update on some of the stuff going on…

AmandaC was caught up in the fringes of other people’s stupidity, but wasn’t actually doing anything wrong. However, since her job is to stay in her department to be ready for customers even when ther ARE no customers it looked on the security video like she was observing the stupidity and not reporting it, hence the "separation of employment". she doesn’t work at my store, BTW, she works at the same store Critter does.

Queeg is at a regional training thing in Atlanta for the rest of the week, so it’s almost like a vacation for me. Yay!

A whole section of CD’s got wiped out at my store this past Friday and no one noticed until this morning when the manager for that department came back in. I went and ran the DVR’s back and discovered when it happened. I was terrified that it had happened while I was in the building and I know that would be all it took and I’d be gone. Of course I’d like to know how the employees that were supposed to be stocking and straigtening the CD’s all weekend failed to notice or report the fact that over a hundred were missing. Morons.

One of the senior managers at my store may be transfering to Alaska. We have a store in Anchorage. It’s looking good and his wife is all for it. He said that since it’s so remote salaried managers get an extra 30% added to their salary as an incentive and that all salaried managers in the state get an automatic $10,000 bonus every year in addition to any bonuses their store qualifies for. They also fly you down to see your family (or them up to see you) once a quarter at company expense. Sweet. I’m seriously considering it. Oh, did I mention Alaska has *no* state income tax? Double sweet. Just on a whim I sent Critter a text asking if she’d ever wanted to live in Alaska, and much to my surprise (I almost dropped my phone) she said, "yes, why?" to which I replied that it was nothing big and I’d tell her next time I saw her.

If they have openings for managers at my level I wouldn’t go without Critter or Ember, and Ember has TacoBoy in Atlanta now so I’m thinking she’s not moving to Alaska no matter how close we are. I don’t know how I would approach it with Critter though, because we’re still just friends and I don’t want to ruin anything that might come later. I think there might, just might, still be a later for us regardless of what she’s said in the past. I might be stupid about it, but there really might be something there that wasn’t there before, so to speak. I know a lot of people reading this think there might be a future for us too, and I like hearing that, but I have to wonder if my hopes are unfairly biasing my writing, and there’s something *I’m* missing that as a consquence y’all are too.

At any rate, asking her to move to Alaska with me would pretty much be asking her back into a relationship, if not an outright proposal of marriage, and while we all (Critter included) know I’m up for both, I don’t know if she is right now and I don’t want to push away the friend I’ve got for the relationship that might be. Hmmm.

But an extra 30% plus $10k…

It’s a lot to think about.

Interesting….

sounds like a lot is going on! and apparently, if you try to start drinking-and-fighting at a teahouse, the soothing atmosphere will make you less likely to achieve your goal.

I’d love to go to Alaska to visit. I bet it’s beautiful. RYN Toyman, you made me laugh so hard with your assessment of the future threesome I will be in! In fact, if Shane and Closetalker don’t include me, can I go to Alaska? LOL

Wow that’s a lot to think about!!!

A friend of mine recently moved to Alaska and loves it. From the pictures he’s sent me I’m pretty jealous.
