Same old stuff

Nothing spectacular happened today. I miss my friends, the project continues. That’s about it. It seems I miscounted project weeks and trips home last time I mentioned them. Including this week, there are six weeks left in the project. Counting the coming weekend, I only get four more trips home before the last two weeks when we work straight through to get done. Once I leave home on October eighth I don’t get to go back until October twentieth, but Ember and Sam are going to come visit so I don’t get all depressed and everything.

Won’t be seeing much of them this Saturday if I see them at all: they have a full day already. I should be having dinner with them on Friday night if Ember doesn’t call it off so that’ll be fun.

I’m bored. I gained four pounds last week. I had to bring unfolded laundry with me because I was to lazy to fold and pack it before I came, so now I have way too much. It isn’t work clothes: it’s just underwear and towels. I don’t need towels at the hotel, and I certainly don’t need ten sets of underwear, socks, and t-shirts for a five-day hotel stay.

I tried to buy something on-line when I got back from work this afternoon and the site wouldn’t let me. I got all the way to the check-out and the button didn’t work. It’s a reputable company, it’s not like I got caught in a phishing scheme, but it’s strange that their store is broken like that. I just tried again and it still doesn’t work. I’ve tried it with two different browsers and it still doesn’t work. Oh, well. I guess they just lost a sale. I might try to find the thing locally, but I’ll probably just do without for now.

Making a bookmark for Ember. I think I’ve finally figured out what I was doing wrong. I was getting the knot tight around the lead, but not snug against the previous row. It wasn’t until the math/engineering geek in me looked at what I was doing that I figured it out. As you know the arts and crafts part of me is deeply stupid and usually needs help with those things. I’ve changed the angle I tighten it at and that seems to have helped. It’s stopped curving at any rate.

And for Ember: we really need to do the Apple Festival thing I talked about in my note. It’ll be fun on it’s own or we’ll make it that way. Gotta go, way past bedtime, but if you read this tonight feel free to call if you need/want to talk.
