Safety

When operating a retail store, one of the things your customers expect (even though they don’t realize it) is a safe shopping environment. It’s our primary responsibility. If they don’t feel safe they won’t come back.

A customer was attacked in my store a few days ago. After reviewing the security tape it’s obvious it wasn’t random, his attacker was hunting for him. Still, he was under our roof. I feel pretty bad about it, he was pretty beat up and his kids were really freaked out.

Ember had a boo-boo today. She’s OK though. Mostly. I’m kinda proud of her though, after she tended her wounds she got back on the bike and rode off again. She’s in my guest bathroom now doing a better clean-up on her knee now. She’s making funny noises, but she swears she’s ok.

When she called me and asked about a first aid kit I was a little aggravated with myself because I didn’t have one. I mean, I didn’t expect her to have one, but I’m the one that’s supposed to be prepared for stuff like this. I have two first aid kits now, one for the house and one for the truck and Ember knows where they both are.

That’s all I got for now.
