RIP Steve Irwin and Project Stuff
I can’t believe something as timid and normally docile as a stingray managed to kill the Crocodile Hunter, Steve Irwin. In case you haven’t heard it happened sometime this morning. At least I think it was this morning, it might actually have been last night for us. He was diving off the Queensland, Australia coast filming a new documentary when the ray spiked him through the heart. He was under a doctor’s care less than thirty minutes later but there was nothing that could be done.
On to local stuff, we had a really good day at the project today, even being one supervisor and four or five team members short. We aren’t getting those team members back: they’ve been released back to their own stores. We finished everything we were supposed to even though we got a late start on one of the counters because another department had gotten greedy and put their merchandise on it. Naughty, naughty little Hobbitses.
I’m moving on with another supervisor to another department tomorrow while the other two are staying behind to finish. I’m a little nervous about the new department: there’s only one counter on the schedule for tomorrow. We normally set between three and five counters a day in whatever department we’re in. If this thing’s 120 feet long I’m going to have a fit. A normal counter is only twenty or twenty-four, and we’ll set both sides for a total linear measurement of forty to forty-eight feet per counter.
That’s pretty well it. Let’s see if I get my expense check tomorrow afternoon or if there’s going to be more drama. Not to worry too much, I get my payroll check on Thursday and it will have all my current and missing hours on it. I’ve got enough on me to stretch that long if I’m careful.
I’m glad you had a good day! What ? You had to work on Labor Day? I hope extra pay for it! 🙂 Yes, truly sad about Steve Irwin, life can end so abruptly! *hugs* Maggie
