OMG! I’m a commercial!

Trying to start easing back into things. If I can find my trash bags I’m going to start going through my crates one at a time and doing what I should have done back in November when I decided I was going to move and get rid of all the trash and crap I’ve been hauling around because I didn’t have time to go through it. After that, if I’m able and they’re accessible, I’m going to start putting books on shelves since I’ve managed to find homes for the bookshelves I previously had stored and buried.

So anyway, yes ladies and gentlemen, Toyman fell and he couldn’t get up. Go figure. Of course since I long ago got in the habit of keeping my phone with me all the time it wasn’t really as big an ordeal as it could have been. While I’ve always thought it was a serious consideration for seniors or people with mobility problems, you have to admit those original commercials in the early ’80’s were kind of funny. I still chuckle at it now, even when it’s me. Notice that the company in question no longer has an actress saying that phrase, they dance around it or just put it up in text on the screen. I remember one of my old bosses, when I worked at the TV station, had climbed up on the roof to install a new antenna for the atomic clock and the ladder fell over while he was up there. He was probably in his sixties and had knee problems so jumping to the shed and then the ground was not an option. Besides, he’s 6’6" and his shoulders have got to be at least three feet across, so he’s a little big to be jumping like that anyway. He finally got our attention, and we teased him a little about "I’ve climbed up, and I can’t get down!" He’s semi-retired now, and it’s well deserved.

So, that’s pretty much it for now. I might go down to the picnic area later and play FarmVille if I can get the laptop to hold a charge. I know it needs a new battery but it’s being a little crankier than normal right now. Now where did I (or maybe Critter, she did some straightening when she was here) put those trash bags….
