Not dead, just sick

I’ve been sick and really busy, so no updates. Just got done with a week of working overnights to re-set my department for spring and I’m still not done. I do have to go back to days starting Monday though. My manager’s manager is upset that we didn’t get it done this week, but I told them all when this started that it would take at least two weeks, if not three or four. It’s gone much better than I could have hoped; so assuming I’m left alone to do the job I should be done by the end of this week.

I guess I had the same crud that Ember and I both had before, I really hope I’m done with it this time.

Ember is doing well, Sammie hates basic but says it’s getting easier.

It seems that there is a misperception among the upper managers at my store that the mess my department is in is all my fault. Nothing could be further from the truth. This department has not been in good shape for four or five years, I’ve been trying to clean it up and haven’t had any help. I’m having a meeting with the head manager next week to set the record straight.

Rah-Rah had her baby by caesarean on December 27th, I forgot to mention that earlier. Everything is OK, he’s a little small but doing fine. The had to go in after him because he wasn’t turning and it was getting close to time, so rather than risk a breech birth, they just took him.

I slept for probably nine or ten hours this morning after work. I’ve only been up about thirty minutes. I feel a lot better. I should probably get the tree down today. I got the outside stuff down last week, and I took my tree off the timer the next day, but it’s still sitting there, mocking me and calling me lazy, so I should take care of it.

I should be having dinner with Ember and some friends tonight, that’s always fun.

I have to write Sammie a letter now, so I’m gonna go.
