[M] Halfway through the day

Got some good news earlier: I don’t have to work my extra day this week. A few of the stores in our district are starting a little rebellion since we are the only region in the country having to work the extra day. Everyone else is still 3/3.

Found out this morning that one of the ladies that works in our receiving area lost two family members this weekend. Her grandfather left Friday for a weekend hunting trip, leaving her grandmother and uncle at the house. The uncle is special needs and the grandmother had Alzheimer’s, but she never wandered off or anything, she just kept forgetting to eat or feed her son, something the grandfather was easily able to deal with. I guess either whoever was checking on them didn’t do it or maybe there were sandwiches and whatnot left, but Saturday night the grandmother finally remembered she and her son needed to eat, tried to cook something and started a fire. Both the grandmother and uncle died in the fire. To make matters worse the family has been unable to contact the grandfather, and last we heard he was overdue from his trip. She said he should have been back Sunday night, and she was waiting for him so he didn’t drive up on the ruins of his home and have a heart attack or something, but he hasn’t shown yet. She’ll be out for a while, obviously. If you could keep her and her family in your thoughts and prayers (to whichever deity matters to you) I’m sure she would appreciate it.
