I want Kool Aid!

OK, I admit it, I should have made it last night. Ember was right. All hail Ember.

Of course now I don’t have the time or energy to make it, so I’ll have to wait until I *really* want it again and take the time to do it.

I have a training class at the regional training center tomorrow, so I have to be up and in the shower in six hours and on the road shortly after that. I’ve already got the address set in my GPS so all I have to do is start the car and go. My boss is of the opinion that not only do I not need this class I’m probably qualified to teach it, but we have no choice in whether or not I go, that was up to the district HR folks.

Oh, and it seems we may not actually be getting a bonus at all. There was some sort of glitch in the budget that we tried all year to get fixed but it never happened. Now they are worried someone at corporate may see it and decide to "fix" it before they calculate our bonuses. If they retroactively change the goals then we will not get a bonus. The senior manager who has been with us all this time already has appeals drafted and ready to overnight to corporate HR if they try to screw us. And of course I’m sure Queeg will pitch a fit too since she gets a piece of it as well. I think she’s eligible for about twenty-five or thirty percent of her base pay as a bonus, and Facility Managers for stores our size start at $100k walking in off the street, and she’s been with the company for a while now so I doubt she was at the starting rate.

I’ve got to have that bonus to get my truck fixed, even if I don’t get the Wii and the dryer. Them I’d have a Wii network adapter and ethernet patch cable hanging from the switch in my entertainment center for no good reason but hey, I’ve done sillier things in the past.

One of the new overnight managers said her new boyfriend had her talking like an "Australian, or British person or something" and I asked if he was from Australia or the UK, and she said no, he just talked that way sometimes. I told her to tell him that people that talked like that but weren’t from there had a special name. I told her I couldn’t say it because it’s against the rules at work, but it rhymes with "trucking tanker" and she busted out laughing. I hope that was a good start to her night. The store is a little torn up, but it’s not from anything day shift has done, we’ve fixed it as best we could every day, but they got slammed with freight on Thursday night and we’re still digging the back rooms out.

The Tylenol PM is starting to kick in. Night all!
