I has monies!

Finally got my taxes back, and it was more than I thought it would be. The IRS and I have been sending my 1040EZ back and forth since April. First it wasn’t signed (my bad) then there were other issues, but in the end I got my refund.

I’m going to sit on it for a week or two and make sure there’s nothing I’m missing that needs to be taken care of, then I’ll probably end up buying a shotgun. I’ve already looked at a few and have it narrowed down. I might go to one of the local gun shops and check out rifles too, but I’m leaning towards the shotgun even though both of them are on my "Y2K" supply list. Yes, I know we are almost twelve years past the actual Y2K but it’s shorter than TEOTWAWKI* and "bug-out kit" implies I’d be going somewhere.

Apparently FEMA judges the impact of hurricanes and other natural disasters by the Waffle House Index. Not sure how I should feel about that to be honest.

It’s Labor Day Weekend, and I have it off, and I still can’t go to Dragon*Con. Poop. Perhaps next year. It does lok like I’ll be able to go to AWA though, I was worried about that. Still going to be a one-day thing for me, no way to get a room now, but next year is looking better for getting a room and doing all three days. Or I might just go one day next year too and spend all the money I’d have spent on a room in the dealer room.
