I can not believe how stupid this guy is

OK, in case I haven’t mentioned it here I’ve only got one department to get ready for inventory, which is in sixteen days. You would think that getting that one department ready would be easy, especially considering I have an hourly manager in charge of it. I’ve been giving general direction, checking on things here and there, but my main concern have been the operations aspects of the store: the money room, the registers, the returns desk, human resources, etc. Besides, that hourly manager keeps telling me how good he is and how much experience he has blah blah blah.

It seems he knows a great deal less than he thought.

Tried to do a detail tour of the department with the Facility Manager today. These normally take about an hour for a department this size. He stopped it five minutes in. It was that bad. There was one shelf that looked good at first, but when we checked behind the faced merchandise we discovered where his freight had been going. There was all kinds of stuff back there, most of it in the original shipping carton. I wanted to kill him. After a very intense "fix-it-right-the-hell-now" conversation I left him alone for the rest of the day in an effort to not fire him so close to inventory. After he left for the day I got  hand held scanner and started going through his back room. I really wish now I hadn’t. I may have to work twelve and thirteen hour days straight through to inventory just to get this one frakking department ready. That’s how bad it is. Really.

I really really want to take Sunday off. It’s my *one* day this week, but this idiot may have cost me that. I’m not sure I could take it off and still feel good about it. Maybe I can just work really late tomorrow and try to get things as straight as possible.

This is gonna be a monumental pain in the ass.

Ugh inventory! I’ve done inventory for larger stores that I’ve worked at. It’s never as simple as it seems but people like him make it almost impossible. I don’t think some people fully understand what inventory is and how it effects the company.
