Happy 4th and back to work for me

Happy Independence Day!

I was on my way to town to get change to go to the landfill and drop my trash off when I realized that despite all the movie marathons and fireworks I’ve experienced over the past weekend today is the actual holiday and anything operated by the government is going to be closed. Poop.

TreeSap got back together with her ex-husband only to discover he was cheating on her so she threw him out.

The car is running well. Still small, but I’m working on making myself a little smaller so I guess that’s OK.

The new senior manager at work is a blooming idiot. He’s so concerned about pulling people off of new freight to fill up seasonal displays and end caps that we don’t always get the new freight worked, for which we get yelled at. The other three senior managers and Facility Manager know it isn’t me, that it’s him, but I’m still there for the butt-chewings like I can do something about it. He was alone, on a weekend, during my vacation a week or so ago and apparently it was a complete disaster. We had everything scanned into the racks when I left on my last day and when I came back on my first day there was so much freight on the floor in the back rooms I wanted to quit. Or maybe puke. I was pissed.

Still trying to get the house cleaned up, I’m not sure how it got in such a state. It’s not unsanitary, it’s just really untidy.

I was drinking some Kool-Aid yesterday when all of the sudden towards the end of the pitcher it tasted horrible. Not sure if it was the Kool-Aid or me.

I’ve still got one bookshelf to put together and about ten crates left to go through. I found all the stuff from my old TI-99/4A and I have no idea what to do with it. There’s way too much lead and what-all in the components to dump it in a landfill, but I don’t much fancy paying someone to recycle it for me. I’ll have to do some research. And this is simply self-interest, not a save the planet thing: most folks around here (including me) get their water from wells so we can’t have too much crap going into the ground water.

That’s all I have for now, off to bed so I can go back to work tonight and try to clean up after the Holiday crazies.
