Day Three

Ok, I did manage to get into town and back, but it hurt. It didn’t make things worse, I was just dealing with a persistent ache the whole time I was driving. Of course living on a gravel road probably doesn’t help any. Gonna be spending most of the rest of the vacation here at home though.

Critter was a little moody on Facebook last night. I didn’t get to see her, I sent her a text letting her know I’d made it to town and back, that she was more than welcome to stop by, but she didn’t have to and if she was too tired I’d understand. She said she had to go home first and take something for her headache, but she might be over. She never made it.

She sent me a text a few minutes ago asking if there was anything I needed and how I was doing. I told her I was back in bed but still making progress. I asked her about her moodiness and she said she was fine. Not entirely certain I believe her, but she knows I’m here if she wants to talk.

Guenter Wendt died earlier today. If you aren’t a space nerd you probably don’t know who he is, but he was the man in charge of the "White Room" at the tower for the Apollo, Gemini, and Mercury programs. He was the last person to talk to the astronauts face-to-face before the hatch was sealed for launch each mission. He worked the first few flights of the shuttle program too, but retired not long into it.

Interesting about the man who passed away, I did not know who he was and am glad you explained it. Hope things go smoothly for you and Critter from now on. Feel better
