Christmas at the ToyHouse II
OK, here are some outside shots. The ones along the front are a little hard to make out but the corner shot should help you fill in the pieces.
One of my faves said something about raising the bar for regular folks. Well, I hate to say it but this is kind of restrained for me. If I hadn’t had to spend decorations money on gasoline there’d be icicle lights along the pergola and the small porch above my front door. Not sure if I mentioned this or not but my parents have a twelve and a half foot tree they are retiring this year, and they are borrowing my *other* seven footer. I’ll probably use both of those next year too if I can fix the lights on the big one. I’m thinking the two seven footers in the front windows, just like this year, the twelve footer back towards the kitchen (the ceiling slopes up and is much higher back there) and the other seven footer in the guest room, which is on the front side of the house, over to the right of where my pictures cut off. As you can see from two years ago at my other apartment I really get into the decorations thing.
I originally bought the seven footers to use in my parent’s front yard. They’re sitting well back from the road on an acre of land and I thought it would be cool to have the trees alternating down through the yard. Well, it’s pretty steep and I never had the time to get railroad ties, spikes, and dirt to make level spots for them, so I just kept them. And ToyMan ain’t stupid: I bought those things the last week of January one year for 75% off. Score!
So, on with the pics:
Same view with the lights on:
Now the front:
And the wreaths:
The one with the screen door in front of it is on the door that only gets opened twice a year. Yep, once to put the wreath up and once to take it down. The screen door is only just holding itself to the house and I don’t like to tax it. Besides, the door into the kitchen is closer to the middle of the house and the step-up onto the deck where I park.
That’s all I’ve got! Later!
I loved the trees inside and the decorations along the railing of the porch. I can’t believe you live somewhere along a dirt road! I guess the city girl in me is so used to seeing asphalt that living in these kinds of places are still nothing more than a dream. 🙂
