Cancelled Plans

Well crap.

Blondie is out on a leave with a bad case of the flu. Her doctor also mentioned "overwhelming fatigue" as a reason for her leave, and she wanted to cross that off but it would have invalided the form. Silly thing, she probably is worn out. It tends to happen to new managers that care, and the areas she’s got are enough to stress out even an experienced manager. Oh well. She probably just needs to be able to stay home for a week and get better and get caught up on sleep.

The reason I mention this here and now is I have been assigned to pick up her Sunday shift, which means my tentative plans for the weekend are now canceled. I guess it’s a goof thing I never got in touch with Nala about it.

Oh, and did I mention that I now have to work ten days straight without a day off? Yay ToyMan! WooHoo!

Grrrr.

Ember’s a little disappointed, but I think she understands. She said she had a lot of fun at her concert.

I haven’t heard from Nala since last weekend. I need to send her a text or something at lunch tomorrow and see how she’s doing. She was upset about something last weekend, but I’m not exactly sure what. I know there’s something going on with her brother, but she mentioned his dog too, so I’m not sure if the auto-complete on her phone screwed up and she didn’t catch it or if I just totally missed the meaning of the text. That is one thing I like about texting on the Treo: there’s no auto-complete feature, but you’ve got a full (if tiny) ASDF keyboard to use, so I can get my texts off almost as fast as someone experienced using a normal phone can.

Bought Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull and the new animated Wonder Woman on BD before I left work. Indy really didn’t impress me much. Hopefully WW will.

Are you salaried? Do you get extra pay when you have to work over 40 hrs. a week? None of my business, but I was just curious. I applied for a retail job yesterday. I don’t nec. want to work for this particular store, but they offer benefits, which I really need.
