Busy Busy

I got so much done today, I’m quite proud of myself. I started the day off by actually getting up when the alarm went off, something I’ve been having trouble with lately. I had what’s become my customary breakfast these past few weeks: three microwave sausage patties and heated maple syrup. I hopped in the shower and read some, then the time came to leave for therapy and I did.

I got there about fifteen minutes early and signed in, but we were late starting the session because the person that had the 1000 got there late. She had an intern with her today and asked me if it was OK if he sat in and I said sure. We bounced around a lot, actually it was me doing the bouncing, they were just along for the ride. Which brings me to the new stuff from today’s session: she thinks that there is more going on than just depression. She’s seeing elements of anxiety and ADHD, with an emphasis on the HD. As I was getting scheduled for my next session and paying the nice people at the desk she was looking for Dr. K (they share their admin folks) to have her write me a scrip for a mild ADHD drug. I forget the name of it but she said it wouldn’t make me a zombie it would just take the “sharp edges off”. She did caution me that I’d feel different, but it would be the bad parts of the ADHD that were attenuated, not the good parts. I told Ember about this and she said, “duh! I could have told you that for free if you’d just asked.” Love ya! Mean it!

Anyway, I see Dr. K tomorrow for a follow-up on my dosage change and then I think she’s going to release me to return to work. Of course my original paperwork lets me go through next Friday (4/4) on leave so I’m going to just go with that date instead. I go to see the therapist again on the tenth, and the intern will be there too. I’m either a good teaching case or there’s a paper in the making but I’m OK with that.

After therapy I ran down to town, had lunch, and bought a few things that I really should have bought yesterday when I was picking up my phone. That’s how most of my evening was occupied last night, getting my 680 synched with my desktop. The good news is that I don’t have to buy another license for my ringtone software. Since I named my 680 the same as my 650 the Hot Sync software just “restored” the backups to my new phone and everything works just like it did on the old phone. I mean I expected it to copy my contacts, to-do list, and calendars over, but it copied my call log and old text messages and everything. All Hail Hot Sync! All Hail Palm! OK, I’m over it.

I walked around Lowe’s for a bit and saw some things I liked but totally have no use for since I don’t own this place and after killing an appropriate amount of time I drove over to the Ford place to have my window fixed since the parts had come in. Two hours later (fortunately they had some Popular Science issues from earlier in the year to keep me occupied) and with an admonition to not let my window down for at least twenty-four hours I left and was off on my next mission: find Ember and see if she needed help getting set up for her party.

I found her and ran a few errands for her, mostly going to her apartment and the grocery store to get stuff she’d forgotten. I hung around for a bit with her and Rah-Rah and then the lady with the “toys” showed up and I had to leave. She won’t show stuff if there are guys in the room. Did I mention it was a girls-only-batteries-not-included party? I left as she was getting set up, and here I am, updating everyone on my day. And now I’m done. I was supposed to have started preheating the oven before I started typing this but I forgot. Now I have to wait even longer for dinner.
