Are you being safe with that *GUN*!?!?
No, you moron, I’m shooting at everything that moves and even things I hear but don’t see. Twit.
My neighbor, not content with just letting her dogs poop all over the property apparently decided to take exception at my short (15 round) bout of target practice. I was down in the woods, facing away from her house, firing into a proper target backstopped by an earthen berm at least four times as big as the target. I was at least a hundred yards away from her, well away from where any of us spend any time, facing away from her and sure of my target and what was behind it. And apparently she’d been screaming at me for a few minutes, but since I was wearing hearing protection (generally a sign of a responsible gun handler) I didn’t hear her and she was getting really strident by the time I finally took the ear muffs off and went to retrieve my target.
As much gunfire as there is around here on a regular basis you’d think she’d be used to it by now. For new/first-time readers no, I don’t live in a high crime area, lol, I live out in the country. I don’t plan on making a habit of it, but I just bought this pistol a few hours ago and wanted to get a general idea of what my sight picture should look like and where the rounds were going. It’s a Glock model 22 (Gen 3) and I’m shooting three inches low and one inch to the right and have a one and a half inch grouping at twenty-five or so feet, so I figure I’m overcompensating for the recoil just a bit. It’s been a while since I’ve used a pistol. I’ll have to find a practice range somewhere around here though because that little flat spot isn’t really all that easy to get to, but I was trying to get away from the houses a little bit. If I owned the place I’d improve it and make a proper one or two lane range out of it. And not renew the neighbor’s lease, lol.
