Another one
It’s really muggy outside right now, which is weird because it’s half past midnight and the sky is crystal clear. I could read by the light of the full moon if I wanted to. I had to drive down and drop off the rent; I totally forgot today was Friday.
Spent a good chunk of the morning up where my parents live doing laundry. Their place is still there, so that’s good. I called AmandaC and left a message telling her I was in town but I never heard back. I did manage to score some brownie bites from the Food Lion, and believe me I’ve been looking high and low for the things. I told some friends that work at a place that used to sell them if they ever got them in again to order an extra case and I’d buy the whole thing and freeze it.
Not sure if I mentioned that Critter’s Internet connection has been fixed. It seems to have been the router all along. From now on I’m sticking with Linksys or NetGear whenever I buy something that Apple doesn’t sell a version of. The Belkin router she got rid of argued with me for half an hour about turning off the router functions and just acting as a hub since it wouldn’t work as a router when connected to her modem. It kept saying the cable modem was configured wrong. That’d be like me telling a cop that the signs on the side of the road are wrong, and the speed limit really is 150mph. And then it still didn’t work right. It kept randomly kicking her laptops off and the Wii couldn’t connect at all. When we installed the NetGear not only did it configure itself without the set-up disc, it went out and grabbed the latest firmware and updated itself without being told. I like that. The laptops are happy and even the Wii connects now, which is a good portion of why she got Internet access at home anyway. She has enough friends, along with the free hot spots in town, to be able to check her e-mail whenever she feels the need, but she wanted to be able to play online with the Wii. We tried Mario Kart Wii the other day but we were doing something wrong and couldn’t get a race started.
I really liked the season finale of Dollhouse. I really hope it gets picked up for next season. It started off a little rocky, but looking back on it that was better story telling than cramming all the backstory into the pilot.
That’s all for now.
Dollhouse, huh? Maybe I’ll check it out. I just cleared my Tivo of two shows I have been watching regularly because of ridiculous and boring story lines. I’d rather do just about anything else that watch that crap anymore. I think I wrote about them in my last entry…they are kinda girly shows so you may not watch them (Desperate Housewives and Brothers and Sisters). Not missing much!
