OK, either Queeg is getting some primo wake-up sex lately or she’s taking medication to make her not crazy. Either way I’ve had two really good mornings and I’m just hoping that tomorrow morning, my last for three days, is this good too.

We’re probably losing one of the overnight managers; he’s trying to transfer to a store closer to his kids (the ex has custody). It’s a shame it’s the better of the other two managers that’s going. I figure, since we’re right at minimum staffing for salaried folks, that Queeg will either put us on five days until we can get another manager hired in or leave us on four days, leave my schedule alone and put the other manager on Sat/Sun/Mon off, leaving me alone with the store on the weekends and both of us there on Tuesday so I can get all the admin work done.

Strangely enough, when I went on vacation, the foremost thing on her mind was getting help for the other manager, the one I normally work with, so "standards wouldn’t slip." The funny thing is that of the three of us on overnights he’s the only one that hasn’t been reprimanded for failing to meet standards. When I pointed that out to one of the two managers between me and Queeg, he just got this blank look on his face like, "crap, he’s right, but I can’t admit it…"

I finally asked about the two good inventories in a row, and was told that what allegedly happened last year wouldn’t show up in the next inventory. I find that a bit strange since the Regional security folks were down for out inventory and pulled the management team into the office and told us they expected us to shrink out almost two million dollars "because of what happened last year." Anyone else find those statements to be contradictory? Anyone?

And we’re walking….

contradictory might be an understatement there. RYN: Scariest freakin’ thing in my life. I had no idea about swiming parallel to the shore…I’ve lived inland all my life so I had no clue. Good for future referance though I hope I’ll never need it.
