So, I have to check my schedule at the spa for the next few weeks, and make sure that certain empty days stay that way so I can schedule myself in at the massage clinic and physiotherapy clinic in Windsor. The percentage is better than I’m getting at the spa, the hours are more flexible since the massage therapists get their own key so we can work later in the evening, if we wish, and I suspect I can have a body guard, if I think one might be appropriate (booking in a new male client, for instance; sexual assault on RMT’s is rare, but not unheard-of).
Anyway, I’m giving the clinic owner a massage next Sunday, as a kind of clincher, and we seem pretty good to go. I know the days that are available there, I know the pay rate and how that works, and Blue Cross billing and all that good jazz. We’ll see where this all leads. My sweetie is okay with my staying here the nights I’m working at the clinics, and both places are within walking distance. This is good for couch-potato me. I don’t know how it’s all going to play out, but I’m willing to try new working conditions and I’m hopeful that it’ll turn out very well.
On a sad note, I found one of our mousies dead the other night when I went to feed them before I left my apartment. Poor little Houdini has made his final escape. He was in his cardboard truck in his cage and looked to be sleeping, but didn’t respond when I tapped on the cage. A closer check revealed him to be cold and stiff. Poor little fella. The rest seem to be fine, so who knows?
Anyway, apart from that, things are looking good. We’re having a meeting at the spa tomorrow, which is also payday. I hope there’s enough to any cover my rent. Before the changes, any cheque was more than enough, but with commission only, who knows? In any case, I want to talk to the superintendent of my building and ask to go on month to month instead of the yearly lease. That would allow me to leave with a month’s notice, instead of having to give three months’ notice.
Off to have some fun on my day off. Be well, dear friends.
hope the interview results in a job. i don’t think getting paid on commission is something i’d be happy with. sorry about your mouse. i make it a point to trap and release any mice i find in my house and you make a home for them!! take care,
