yeah.

when i was in high school, my favorite poet was robert frost. i still have a massive collection of all his poems, a favorite being “Nothing Gold Can Stay.” i wrote the following poem back in high school, quite a few years ago. it seems horrible to me now, but i loved it back then. i suppose i still love it – i wrote it. just neat to see how i used to have a sense of creativity to me. i wasn’t always so empty.

nothing gold can stay, he said
but i was apt to differ
life may pass too quick to see
but living goes much swifter

sitting seconds left to lax
and times we cannot ‘member
dousing passion with our age –
the fire scorched to ember.

Nothing Gold Can Stay

Nature’s first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf’s a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.

– Robert Frost

i need to start writing again. need to start playing guitar again. need to start learning again. i used to be a sponge, i mean i was doing anything from reading Faulkner and Rand to learning about socialism. now i feel like i waste my time trying to “chill out” playing games and relaxing on my couch. we only live so long. we only have one chance. we only have the here and now to live and appreciate.

sometimes i wish i would really listen to myself and maybe take my own advice.

“A voice said, Look me in the stars
And tell me truly, men of earth,
If all the soul-and-body scars
Were not too much to pay for birth.”

– Robert Frost

so…
is it not too much to pay?

You know, I feel the same way. 🙁

ryn: I’m still around, I just don’t think I’m gonna be writing for a while. I don’t know yet. The more that’s bothering me, the less I have to say.
