Evening!

 

Well.

I finally have my gorgeous Mini Cooper Cabrio in my hot little waiting hands.

 

After totally getting dicked around by the Car salesmen and his team of incompetent car moving people I finally have it.

 

For the last week, before I even paid for the car, I explained that I only had Tuesday off, and I would have to book and pay for a bus to Cairns to pick I up and was the timing going to be ok etc etc etc..

He was like “ yip, it takes 3 days for us to transport a car… the car will be there on Monday and you can get it anytime on Tuesday you like”

Even the day before, on Monday,  I called him, and he called the driver of the truck to make sure it was all good.  The driver said he was in Townsville “just waiting” to pick up another couple of cars then he would be on his way.

I’m thinking “sweet” all booked in – the car will be here.

I don’t sleep out of pure excitement, I get on the bus with my mum, and we get to Cairns at about 11am. I call Ron the truck driver to find out where I should be going, and he’s like “oh, well I’m still in Townsville, I won’t know for another hour when I’m leaving”..

I was just all “WTF!” because its 5 hours drive between Cairns and Townsville, and I was pissed off…

I called the carsalesman to tell him it was bullshit, he said he would ring the driver to find out what was going on, 1&1/2 hours later….still haven’t heard anything from either person, and I ring the car driver again..

He tells me the car isn’t coming today and it might come tomorrow.  I go off my head, yelling at him and just going off… I was pissed off, I had spent time and money and my one

day off just to come and collect my car, mum and I spent $70 in bus fares and now we had to spend another $70 to turn around and go home!

 

He said.. “I’ll call you back in half and hour”

1 hour later, some random calls up and says that my car has been passed to them to bring up tonight, and my car will be in Cairns between midnight and 3am, and they will pay to bring it to Port Douglas, but they have to wait for another car to be booked to travel between Cairns and Port and that may take a week.

 

I said “ I just want my fucking car.  Get it to Cairns ASAP and call me.”

 

Finally later on that evening a gorgeous man calls saying that he loading my Mini onto his truck, and how beautiful the car is and that he took a photo of it and sent it to his daughter…And he will get it to me asap hell or high water.

 

I took another bus down in the morning and picked it up.

 

Before I get to the gushing bits, I still have not heard from either the car salesman or the original truck company.  Also when I picked it up, it was almost completely empty of fuel, saying it had only 15 kms in the tank before empty. 

This is just not on.

 

I think I am going to write a letter of complaint to the Car company about how it was handled.

I don’t expect anything, but I just think it was crap. 

As soon as they got the cheque the care-factor went down to zilch.

Besides wasting my time and money and complete day off ( and my mums) I haven’t heard from either person and I was doing all the fucking chasing around.

 

 

 

 

Anyway..

Talk about love at first sight.

Its just the best thing I have ever owned.

 

She handles like a dream, driving home was just pure joy and you couldn’t have wiped the smile from my face!

She is even better than I had imagined.

Its got sport seats and a upgraded sound system added, the chrono dash pack added, trip computer added, multifunction steering wheel added.

 

She doesn’t have a dent in her, and the roof is perfect, interior perfect.

Its so completely awesome, I just want to drive it all the time!

The color is very cool, quite blue in direct sun, then deep purple out of it.

I felt fantastic driving through Cairns with the top down, it’s a head turner!

 

I took my sous chef Matt out to have a look this afternoon, he was looking at the engine and sitting in the drivers seat going “oh my god, this is sick!, its got this and that and the next thing”… lol, stuff I don’t even know…

 

 

I feel so lucky!  The car I have wanted since in came out on 2005 is sitting in my carpark!  I couldn’t have gotten a better car, with all the added options its good, in the condition it is, its awesome!

I even drove right past my house on the way home from work tonight, oops! I’ll have to go the extra long way! Lol
