Out Of Time

This is the third time in going to be trying this. We will see how it goes. OD has an annoying habbit not to work.

I’m acting regional manager atm at work [ my usual position is Office Manager]. This is going well, except when my contract overseer decided to rock up to work drunk and stoned, and starts to abuse certain staff. I ring the Director to get some advice, and he decides to fly in and handle the situation. This I have no problem with, except when he decides to do something stupid.

He gives him a second chance. Why? I don’t know. This now lays precendent for anarchy as far as i’m concerned. What is to stop anyone else from just turning up drunk or smashed to work? What sort of respect are you going to command as senior managment [him not me] when as far as they are concerned ‘your that old drunk’ or for me when i can’t terminate when they can use the excuse ” Well he did it!”. I can’t repremand anybody anymore, let alone terminate someone because their work ethic is poor, or they arn’t suited for the job. I mean really, where would you go from here? A boycott? I’m try had not to let that happen.

I had two lay-off this week, one for a man who was found asleep on the job, the other because he came to work and smelt of booze and looked rather seedy. What can I do about it? The precedent is too high.

In other exciting news, I still have not found a place to live. Comming up with $2000 bond money isn’t as easy as it sounds. I may have to get another loan from the company, providing the regional upon his return is agreeable to this. Blah.

I had a call from Adam last night. Wanting to drop off some things that I left at his place while we were still dating. He left me for his ex, go firgure. I told him I was interstate for the week and couldn’t see him, and he could leave them with Brenden. I don’t want to see him, not after that. Brenden said he was rather uncomfortable when he dropped it off. Funny enough included in the things were two coat hangers?? What is that supposed to mean? It’s kind of funny – did he return them becasue they were two coathangers more than he needed, or they didn’t match the ones he had, or a sign of honesty? Maybe they were just ugly coat hangers. He is an architect and he is Liberan. I think they were just ugly.
