What I Crave.

I talk a lot about the smashing spaghetti Paige used to make for me. My craving for it has gotten so bad that I actually tried making some today.

From scratch.

I even went so far as to buy fresh tomatos.

Well um.

Let’s just say I could have done a lot better. It was edible. The green pepper seemed to be overpowering, and I didn’t feel comfortable with constantly pouring sugar into it. I could only add so much onion and garlic powder before I worried of overspicing. (Among other things I was using.)

At least the meatballs came out okay. That’s impossible for me to screw up.

*purrs*

I don’t believe that “the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach”. But. But, damn. All you have to do is make one thing and make it well. Damn well. What I’d give to have some of that spaghetti again…

I remembered when I put too much basil in my spaghetti sauce one time. Whoopsie! Never again. *laughs*

If you’re ever in Cleveland I’ll hook you up. I promise. I’m good at cooking most things, but I think that most women have their own special way of making spaghetti. Including myself. 🙂

Sugar in your spaghetti sauce? Never heard of such a thing. Basil, oregano, onion, garlic, savory, bay leaves and tomatoes are all I use in my sauce.

You could always buy sauce in a jar. If you really want homemade, though, Alton Brown has a recipe that looks good (it’s probably on the foodtv site) — basically, he puts tomatoes in a baking dish with a little oil/garlic/herbs and bakes it all day long on the lowest temperature, then purees it. Me, I usually get lazy and just get canned tomatoes and cook them in a saucepan.

My mom makes THE BEST spaghetti and meatball dinner. She tought me how to do it, but I’m always afraid I’m doing something wrong. I guess I’ll get the hang of it one day.RYN: I like sex, too.

The “one thing” I make best is bread. From scratch. No I don’t have a bread machine. It’s a fun hobby.

I love putting sugar in the spaghetti sauce…but not too much because eww. Yay. The best thing I can make by heart is Chicken Parmigana, though I haven’t made any in years.

hmm…smashing spaghetti? sounds…intresting lolWe all have our weird cravings though
