What happens when you don’t rest.

Can’t sleep. Damn it.

I woke up this morning with a scratchy throat. “Oh shit” is pretty much what I thought. Isn’t it that you’re most contagious when you’re first getting sick? No outward coughing, no stuffy nose, but I felt my energy levels dip today. Was trapped in drive-thru – I can only guess how many people I infected. But again, it’s not like I was coughing on my hands or anything. I blew my nose only a few times, and washed my hands afterwards. I’m not a douchebag. I just felt my throat swell as the day went on. I’m surprised I didn’t lose my voice.

I’m getting better at drive-thru. As Overachiever said, competence is its own punishment. Joy.

I’m naked. Because I was trying to sleep. Just thought I’d get that visual clear.

I came home and had some tomato soup. Genius me let the pot boil over. Put some of the detachable parts of the stove in the dishwasher. Still have more to clean, but I seriously don’t have the energy. I was able to do all my laundry, but i haven’t the energy to fold. They’re all dumped in a pile behind my chair. Oh well? Started in on my year’s supply of hot cocoa. I’m smart enough to know it’s not the actual tea that soothes your throat, it’s the hot water. Except who the hell drinks hot water by itself?

(I really hope there isn’t want an answer to that question.)

I’m debating my activities for tomorrow. At bare minimum, I have class tomorrow. What else I do depends on my energy level, and whether I feel like infecting other people. I could wake up in the morning and feel ready to hit the gym. I could very easily not feel up to it. If I don’t, I’ll go on Wednesday and shift my workouts down a day. Not a big deal. Health is more important. Moreover, if I’m not feeling up to it, I won’t be eating at a caloric surplus. I simply can’t eat heavily when I’m sick.

When I say “infecting people”, I really am just pondering whether to steer clear of Victoria. I don’t know her immune system, but I know she’s run down. She does not need to get sick. Aren’t I considerate?

I have gotten into the pattern of seeing Cliff on Sunday nights. I wisely decided to take it easy tonight. Cliff has an extremely weak immune system, he doesn’t need this.

Hrm, random yahoo news. I have to say that as a kid, I always felt more self-conscious around boys. I felt more pressure to fit in, be accepted. I felt more judged. I can’t say that I ever felt like girls looked down on me. I hate gender roles. Single-gender classes teaches you BE A MAN, YOU SISSY BOY.

Anyway.

I want to sleep. Will try again.

Having a son who could probably be described as a “sissy boy” by idiots who do that sort of thing, I can honestly say I agree with you about hating gender roles. And, I’m hungry for Taco Bell. Bastard! Quit bringin’ it up already. Hope you feel better! Drink your hot chocolate and go to bed.

ryn: You’re killing me. I’m going to go make some Easy Mac now to try and stave off my Taco Bell hunger.

airborne. google it. take it soon and you’ll be sick for a much shorter period of time. *rubs your back* feel better soon. I find it interesting that you got sick right after your touching girl’s hands entry. Eeww was my thought. Hand sanitizer rules. Especially if you must work with the public.

I’ve had a sore throat lately as well, but I’m not as considerate as you. If I infect people I don’t really feel bad, it’s probably their weak immune system that gave it to me in the first place. Heh.

Aw, sore throats = no good. Feel better soon! As for the news article, ugh! That’s just a really bad idea. That’s the point in life where genders should not be separated. Learning how to interact with each other is generally a good thing. Anyway, the boys need girls to tie them up on the play ground. Or at least that’s what I did when I was that age…

some people do drink hot water alone, apparently, so i’ve heard, it flushes out the system or something. also, have it with some lemon for a dash of flavour.

go to the drug store and buy some ‘airborne’, that stuff really works to fight off colds.

Actually, I have been known, on occasion to drink only hot water. Usually when I’m sick and I don’t feel like drinking cup of tea after cup of tea. And I’m not the biggest hot chocolate fan… So I drink hot water. It’s actually really soothing.

but tea’s got antioxidants in it! don’t ask me which ones; i only just learned last quarter that the only antioxidants are vitamins A, C, and E. (and here i thought antioxidant was something speical and mysterious)
