Sunday off.
Yesterday was awesome. Girl and I went to a local lake, soaked up some sun, swam a little. She insisted on slathering us in SPF so we wouldn’t burn. I think I look slightly less white. I’ve never really laid out in the sun before. I reckon it was enjoyable. The water was a little too cold, though. I haven’t had a Sunday off in years.
The girl’s addicted to Everquest 2. I am amused. I tease her, saying how it’s time to go to bed and cuddle, and she’ll respond that she just wants to finish one more quest. It more than makes up for my periodic addiction to Sims, and current love of Pirates!
I used to be big about bashing “kids these days”. Been doing it since I was a kid. Ha ha. I’ve decided to go 180 and start bashing “old people these days”. Seriously, what the hell happened? Old people these days have no respect for anybody! They think they can just be a dick to whoever they want, get their way, and if someone else dares act the same way they do, it’s somehow different from when they do it! Old people think everybody should just respect them, and that everything is owed to them!
Heh. I amuse myself. I’ve met plenty of nice old people, but I’ve also met plenty of grey-haired old codgers who are cognitively vapid, demanding, and rude. It’s time I cut the younger generation some slack, I rarely see such disrespect from them.
I waited at the bus stop with Candi for her bus. It’s the first day of her big internship. She made the commentary about how when we’re kids, we waited for a school bus. And now that she’s older, she’s waiting for a bus for her job. Went to the gym afterwards.

Hanging Leg Raises: 2×10 @ BW
Cuban Press: 2×15 @ 30 lbs
Swiss Ball Crunch: 2×15 @ 10 lbs
Lateral Raise: 3×10 @ 10 lbs
I had my workout, but it was in my pants, which was in my car. I had my shorts on. I kind of knew my workout, but I really wasn’t in the mood to do it. Again. Ugh. It’s so hard! Heh.
So I improvised.
I actually managed to scare one woman while I was deadlifting. Apparently she’d never heard “such noise” before. Lady, it’s a gym. Not only that, I’m on a damn platform. You can’t “quietly” place 225 lbs on the floor. Ain’t gunna happen. She should be glad she wasn’t hear on a day I do 4×10 deadlifts followed by 2×20 deficit deadlifts for Fat Loss III.
I love overhead pressing. Probably could have used more weight, I just haven’t done formal dumbbell presses in a while. Step-ups got my heartrate up, and made my grip strain. Fun. My hips always feel better after I do step-ups.
Clean and press was fun. I was aiming for a third set, but my neck didn’t feel right after the second set. No idea. I feel absolutely nothing right now, feels fine, but I stopped after two sets. I think my bench has gotten weaker. Significantly. We’ll see how much it rebounds in Strength I.
Did some treadmill walking afterwards, just ten minutes. I consider it part of my cooldown. Made me feel better, not quite as blasted when I leave the gym.
I think I’ll go play Pirates. Maybe I’ll be the Dutch and attack everyone. Man. Turning up the difficulty makes the game hard! (I love being Captain Obvious.) I could probably learn how to duel at a higher difficulty, but right now I’m just having fun kicking everyone’s ass. I’m not ready for the game to be hard!
I have to agree with you on old people. I mean, wow…I’ve met some horrible ones. I don’t know what happened–they are totally different from the ones I knew growing up. Got to love the bus, I actually want to take a Grey Hound somewhere one day–it would definitely be an experience. I wish my area had more public transport though, maybe I wouldn’t need my car so much.

Video game addictions are always fun. That is what is helping my summer be less boring 😉 so, why do you urge me to reconsider computer science? is it very difficult?

Do you do sets in increasing weight. Like, set at 20, set at 25, etc…? I’ve been told I should do this, but I always heard that do 2 sets at the weight that is challenging enough that you hit muscle failure at 12.
